Leaf Fall Scarf Test Knit

Here are a few notes about the Leaf Fall Scarf test knit, about the pattern, the yarn requirements and timescale. We are hoping to achieve clear and accessible patterns and what is clear to Louise and myself may not be so to everyone!

Sizes
One size.
Finished Measurements: 78.5 x 10 cm / 31 x 4 in

Yarn
I used Ainsworth & Prin Double Classic Sock 100g / 365m skein
There is no obligation to use our yarn though, all you need to do is choose an appropriate yarn from your stash, that is of a similar yardage. The composition could vary but I would think you would need a yarn with a high percentage of wool and one that is fairly springy.

To give you an idea of the quantities you will need, I used: Approx: 35g 128m / 140 yds

You will also need:
3.5mm (US 4) circular needle or 2 double-pointed needles (DPNs) 3.5mm (US E/4) crochet hook or close size
1 locking/removeable stitch marker
Smooth waste yarn
Safety pin

Skills you may need:
You will need to work yarn over increases, ssk and k 2together decreases and central double decreases on the knit and purl sides.

You will need to match the gauge or get as close to it as possible.

Timescale:
If possible, we would like five testers for this pattern. We would like you to send us photographs and notes on your experience of the knitting by the 8th March 2024.

If you would like to volunteer for the test knit I will send you the tech edited pattern, photos of the finished scarf and any appropriate detail shots.
If any errors come to light I’ll email them to you as quickly as possible.

Thank You
As a thank you we will send you a pdf or Ravelry copy of the finished published pattern plus your choice of one of our other patterns. At the end of the test knit we will randomly draw a name from all those who finished the project for a skein of Ainsworth and Prin yarn of their choice.

Thank you for reading through this and I hope it doesn’t sound too daunting! It will be exciting to see the finished projects.

Many Thanks
Nicola x
