The Knitting Shed was started by Vicky after she developed a passion for all things woolly whilst going through treatment for breast cancer.  She had a love for knitting and crochet and an infectious bubbly personality and with the enthusiasm of the newly converted she was keen to spread the word.
Sadly the breast cancer returned and Vicky died in 2014.  Today the business is run by her husband, Paul and her sisters-in–law, two yarn fanatics, Nicola and Louise.  So we are very much a family business stocking the yarns and accessories that we love and want to use and hope to create an inspiring site and provide a first class service.

Nicola

Nicola is a home economist and has worked as a food stylist for the past 30 years.  She is the perfectionist and designs the kits and patterns.  She loves traditional yarns which show the stitch detail and will go to any length to find the perfect one.

Louise

Louise worked on nurseries since she was a teenager and managed several nurseries in the south of England.  She is the one in charge of the computer, is on the end of the phone and is learning her way around a camera – she gets the fun job of selecting the stock!

Paul

Paul is the one with the ‘glamorous lifestyle’, he has worked in Formula 1 and is now Director of Racing at Aston Martin.  He travels the world with the cars but as yet hasn’t turned to knitting to fill in the long hours waiting at airports.  We’re working on it.
