If you’re considering a bit of summer knitting we have the Cornish thrift top with matching shawl for when the summer doesn’t live up to expectations.

The simple vest style top is worked in pieces from the bottom up in our Merino & Silk Single. It starts with a deep patterned hem, the body is then worked in stocking stitch with the shoulders shaped with German short rows and the arm holes and neck finished with a rolled garter stitch hem. The seaming provides stability to the fabric

The triangular shawl is knit in two colours in alternating bands of garter stitch and daisy or thrift stitch. There is the option for two different sizes using either two or three skeins of Merino & Silk.

The shawl starts off with three stitches with increases on one side. The pattern really shows up well with a speckled yarn.

We’re always asked at shows how to knit the daisy or thrift stitch and as we always forget we’ve made a short how to video.
